I’m a board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist and I treat people of all ages who are struggling with mental health issues. I have experience treating anxiety, mood disorders, behavioral disorders, attention deficit disorders and personality disorders. I have additional expertise in the assessment and treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related problems.

For many first-time patients and families seeing a psychiatrist is confusing and uncomfortable. So my goal when meeting new patients is to demystify the process and show a clear path toward relief.  I let my patients know what I’m thinking and how these thoughts influence my recommendations. And I feel strongly that decision making should be collaborative.

I use an evidenced-based approach to prescribing medication, and enjoy using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). For both medication management and psychotherapy I follow with same 4-step approach-- first is a careful and thorough assessment, next I make clear recommendations leading to an action plan. The third step is figuring out if the plan is working, and the fourth step is deciding when and how to alter the plan. The approach is simple, and though treatment sometimes can be complicated, I feel strongly that it should always be clear what the next steps will be.
